Award-winning Agent joins Auction House
Release Date: Fri 23 Oct 2009 Back to main news
Auction House UK, Britain's largest national chain of property auctioneers, has managed to entice one of Kent’s leading estate agents to their rapidly expanding empire.

Award-winning Miles and Barr estate agents have six offices in Ramsgate, Folkestone, Whitstable and Herne Bay. They will operate as Auction House East Kent.

Auction House Founding Director Roger Lake said: "We’re delighted to welcome Miles & Barr on board. They are already an established and highly successful firm of estate agents. Now Auction House will be able to help them enter the world of residential property auctions with all the training, marketing, and support they could possibly want.”

Stuart Barr from Miles & Barr said: "Auctions are not something we’ve been able to offer to our clients before. So with the market in the perfect state, we needed to be sure that we teamed-up with the right company. After speaking to several contenders, only Auction House displayed the qualities, experience and professionalism we were looking for.”

The addition of Miles and Barr to the network follows hot on the heels of auction veterans Stephenson & Son joining the brand in Yorkshire last month. The company has carried out agricultural and livestock auctions in their region for 140 years.

Roger Lake continued: “Our two latest signings demonstrate the wide appeal of the Auction House brand. Whether companies are already established auctioneers, or entering the field for the first time, we can provide the experience and marketing muscle that only a national network can offer.”

The latest signing represents a meteoric rise for Auction House, which started life from a single office in Norwich just two years ago. In that time, the company has managed to extend its coverage across more than half of the country, with a current total of 22 franchisees.
